Compliance Assurance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.

📋 Description

• Lead a team tasked with overseeing, monitoring, reviewing, and assessing the effectiveness of the ERO Enterprise’s risk-based compliance monitoring and certification.

• Supervise Regional Entities while evaluating compliance with the NERC Rules of Procedure, CMEP, and approved delegation agreements.

• Manage Compliance Assurance personnel who support NERC’s risk-based CMEP.

• Develop, implement, and proactively manage project timelines, including risk identification, mitigation strategies, and change management.

• Collaborate with Compliance Assurance staff, NERC departments, and Regional Entity personnel on compliance engagement oversight.

• Create and execute oversight programs, processes, and initiatives to assess Regional Entity compliance with relevant requirements.

• Oversee regional and industry Operations and Planning outreach and training initiatives.

• Provide cyber technical expertise on Risk and Operations and Planning.

• Oversee the development and enhancement of NERC CMEP policies, procedures, rules, and related activities.

• Facilitate industry stakeholder engagement through presentations, briefings, seminars, news articles, and workshops.

• Collaborate with NERC committees, subcommittees, working groups, and industry stakeholder groups.

• Ensure that Compliance Assurance activities comply with NERC Rules of Procedure.

• Communicate expectations, offer employee feedback, inspire team members, promote professional development, set objectives, and track progress.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of seven years of progressive and successful experience in leading projects, teams, and initiatives within a technically and operationally complex business or organization.

• Capability to lead a team of subject-matter experts and contribute to the Compliance oversight program.

• Advanced knowledge of Bulk Electric System Operations and Planning.

• Strong experience in risk evaluation and analysis.

• Advanced project management and analytical skills.

• Proven group facilitation abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with minimal direct supervision.

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in interacting diplomatically with individuals at various levels of industry and government.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading capabilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Willingness and ability to travel regularly.

• Background check required prior to employment.
