Compliance Associate

📋 Description

• Assist in the implementation of Coinbase's AML/CTF compliance initiatives, which include transaction monitoring, alert assessment, and the escalation of potentially suspicious activities.

• Prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and other necessary regulatory filings for designated entities.

• Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) assessments, evaluate customer risk profiles, and escalate complex or high-risk situations.

• Ensure precise compliance records and documentation are maintained across all covered entities.

• Track regulatory changes in Ireland and Bermuda while contributing to updates in policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with CX, Legal, and Operations teams on compliance processes and responses to regulatory inquiries or examinations.

• Assist the MLRO with daily compliance operations for Coinbase Custody International, CBIE Trust, and Coinbase Bermuda.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in AML/CTF compliance, financial crimes, or a similar compliance role within financial services, fintech, or a regulated organization.

• Proficient understanding of AML/CTF laws, including the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010 (as amended), CBI guidance, EU Anti-Money Laundering Directives, the EU's Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), and the Bermuda Proceeds of Crime Act.

• Proven experience in conducting customer due diligence (CDD/EDD) assessments, transaction monitoring, and preparing suspicious transaction reports or equivalent regulatory documentation.

• Familiarity with compliance case management systems and the capability to manage a substantial volume of concurrent reviews and regulatory deadlines with accuracy and detail.

• Responsibly utilize generative AI, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outcomes and drive measurable enhancements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
