This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in implementing earned media strategies that enhance the visibility of Hispanic Access, its priorities, programs, and community leaders.
• Conduct research on journalists, media outlets, podcasts, and other opportunities in the media landscape.
• Create and maintain focused media lists.
• Write press releases, media advisories, pitches, statements, talking points, and various other media materials.
• Perform media outreach, including pitching, follow-up, and coordinating interviews.
• Recognize opportunities to link organizational expertise and community perspectives to public discussions.
• Aid in preparing staff and community leaders for media engagements.
• Monitor media outreach, placements, and coverage.
• Identify and craft stories that showcase Hispanic Access’ impact and uplift community leadership.
• Establish and maintain a story bank across various programs, initiatives, and networks.
• Conduct interviews with community leaders, partners, participants, and staff.
• Write and edit stories, articles, newsletters, website content, campaign materials, social media posts, and external communications.
• Contribute to thought-leadership content including op-eds, articles, speeches, and talking points.
• Repurpose stories, research, media coverage, and other content across various communication channels.
• Support integrated communications campaigns across media, digital, email, web, and content platforms.
• Generate campaign content that aligns with organizational messaging and priorities.
• Manage campaign timelines, content requirements, assets, approvals, and deliverables.
• Facilitate communications for events, reports, announcements, and major initiatives.
• Modify and disseminate campaign content through digital platforms.
• Collaborate with program and policy teams to collect stories, information, data, and visuals.
• Oversee communications projects and ensure timely deliverables.
• Maintain media lists, story banks, campaign materials, and communication assets.
• Ensure that materials adhere to brand, voice, messaging, and editorial standards.
• Track media placements, storytelling outputs, campaign deliverables, and communication results.
• Assist in reporting on campaign and communications performance.
• Contribute to quarterly communication goals and EOS Rocks.
• Uphold accountability for priorities, deadlines, and outcomes in accordance with the organization’s LMA approach.
• Report directly to the Director of Communications and work collaboratively with the communications and program teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2–4+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, journalism, nonprofit communications, advocacy communications, marketing, or a related field.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills tailored for diverse audiences and platforms.
• Proven experience in developing press releases, pitches, articles, newsletters, web content, social media copy, or talking points.
• Familiarity with media relations, encompassing media research, pitching, journalist outreach, and/or media monitoring.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines and deliverables simultaneously.
• Proactive in identifying engaging stories and communication opportunities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with community leaders, partners, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative, fully remote environment.
• Preferred knowledge of the media landscape and narrative opportunities impacting Latino communities.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
