Commercial Sign Graphic Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop production-ready visual representations from conceptual ideas for both print and digital media.

• Oversee the design process from initial concept to final deliverable.

• Collaborate with various internal and external teams to translate written or verbal ideas into compelling designs.

• Choose substrates, finishes, illumination techniques, and mounting methods based on factors like durability, availability, cost, finish quality, structural requirements, and project specifications.

• Prioritize tasks, monitor dependencies, adjust priorities as necessary, and consistently meet or exceed deadlines.

• Proactively identify missing information, risks, changes in scope, and impacts on timelines.

• Employ layout, proportion, hierarchy, spacing, typography, contrast, sightlines, and legibility principles to produce clear, buildable signage solutions.

• Work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects while adhering to deadlines and budgetary constraints.

• Plan project implementation based on workload.

• Ensure brand integrity through precise logo usage, color matching, PMS/paint/vinyl specifications, finish selections, and considerations for illuminated colors.

• Update and manage internal design databases.

• Create vector designs utilizing complex layering, precise Bezier curves, overlapping paths, and pathfinding operations.

• Integrate 3D sign vectors into site photographs using perspective matching, lighting and shadow layers, nighttime illumination, neon effects, and material textures.

• Factor in depth, returns, reveals, illumination zones, mounting conditions, material transitions, installation constraints, and service access in designs.

• Use accurate measurements, scale relationships, overall dimensions, material yield awareness, and viewing-distance criteria in production-ready drawings.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address design, material, fabrication, installation, and client concerns.

• Leverage emerging AI trends to streamline processes and enhance deliverable quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in the sign industry is required.

• Proficiency in CorelDraw is mandatory; CorelDRAW is the primary software utilized in the design department.

• Expertise in CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator for vector graphics is essential.

• Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop for photo simulations are necessary.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Graphic Designer in the sign industry is preferred.

• A Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field is preferred.

• Knowledge of various sign types and fabrication methods is required.

• Proficiency with CorelDraw is mandatory.

• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator is a plus.

• A strong portfolio showcasing technical fabrication drawings is essential.

• A keen eye for visual composition is necessary.

• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines are crucial.

• Capability to give and receive constructive feedback is important.

• Understanding of marketing and corporate identity is beneficial.

• Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and installation processes is preferred.

• Experience with computer-aided design is an asset.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings is important.
