This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver prompt, courteous, and high-quality customer service to policyholders and claimants.
• Respond to customer calls, process claims, and address customer inquiries.
• Collect information to initiate claims and clarify policy details, coverage, and suitable courses of action.
• Manage a portfolio of commercial property claims from the initial notice of loss to resolution.
• Set initial reserves for potential exposures and adjust them throughout the claims process.
• Investigate, assess coverage, and adjust all aspects of commercial property loss claims.
• Prepare appraisals for dwelling repairs or coordinate with field appraisers to ensure appraisal accuracy.
• Clarify coverage of loss, including coinsurance; support policyholders with damage itemization and mitigation efforts.
• Handle claims related to business interruption.
• Ensure adherence to state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures.
• Communicate with all involved parties and negotiate settlements with claimants, insureds, and attorneys within authorized payment limits.
• Contribute to the development of claims guidelines, best practices, and process enhancements.
• Supervise and direct external investigative service providers.
• Collaborate with clients, client counsel, and investigative services to resolve claims.
• Candidates must live in an eligible U.S. state during their employment.
• Candidates must not reside in California, Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or outside the United States.
• Bachelor's degree (not having one should not deter you from applying if you meet all other qualifications).
• Active adjuster license: resident-state license where applicable, or a Designated Home State (DHS) license.
• Willingness to obtain any additional required licenses within 60 days, including state testing.
• At least 5 years of experience in property claims.
• Experience with commercial property claims.
• Familiarity with desk and/or field appraisal processes.
• Knowledge of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to analyze and assess complex data and make informed decisions based on established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Inquisitive and driven by problem-solving and challenging the status quo.
