This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Offer strategic legal advice on product innovation, marketing initiatives, sales processes, and emerging technologies.
• Formulate, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts related to advertising, marketing, and data service agreements.
• Provide guidance on legal risk management and the evolving regulatory landscape concerning technology, commercial agreements, privacy, and consumer protection.
• Collaborate with various business units, as well as policy, compliance, and legal teams, to develop enterprise-wide strategies.
• Anticipate potential legal challenges and propose practical, innovative solutions.
• Conduct legal research to evaluate the effects of new laws and regulations on business operations.
• Support the alignment of business objectives with legal frameworks in regulated sectors.
• Assist in shaping new business models and opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with a distributed, virtual team.
• Partner with product teams on technologies, mobile applications, innovative technologies, and unique corporate structures.
• Transform insights from legal experts into accessible, business-oriented guidance.
• Draft data licensing agreements and lead negotiations for commercial deals.
• Direct compliance and risk mitigation initiatives in conjunction with other departments.
• Provide counsel to Allstate’s Arity mobility data and telematics business unit, as well as its marketing solutions division.
• Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in good standing.
• At least 7 years of legal experience.
• Proficiency in one or more areas, including commercial law, privacy, advertising/marketing law, technology, artificial intelligence, or intellectual property.
• Experience working within a corporate parent organization and across a network of affiliated entities.
• Background in providing legal advice within the advertising sector.
• Strong business insight with the ability to evaluate and communicate legal risks in a commercial environment.
• Skills in process improvement and a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency.
• Exceptional leadership, collaboration, team development, mentoring, and strategic advisory skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Experience in managing departmental or legal budgets.
• Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant legal or business technology applications.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proven discretion and professionalism in managing sensitive and confidential information.
• A dedicated, distraction-free home workspace equipped with appropriate desk and seating.
• Reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
