Commercial and Product Counsel – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as an extension of clients' internal teams, offering expertise in commercial contracts, regulatory matters, product issues, privacy concerns, and general legal advice.

• Review and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements with quick turnaround times.

• Clearly identify key obligations, risks, and anomalies for business stakeholders.

• Transform recurring tasks into playbooks, templates, and quality standards.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance the review platform's speed and accuracy.

• Assist in scaling contract review processes and legal operations.

• Provide practical, business-oriented advice directly to clients.

• Contribute to the development of tools and systems that expedite and scale legal work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar membership in good standing.

• At least 5 years of legal practice experience.

• Extensive experience supporting technology firms.

• Prior experience as in-house counsel or as a sole legal advisor is essential.

• Generalist experience in commercial, product, and privacy law for SaaS, AI, robotics, or deep tech companies.

• Corporate or employment law experience is advantageous.

• Familiarity with or enthusiasm for AI-assisted legal workflows.

• Strong foundation in professional responsibility and legal ethics.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Availability for a minimum of 20 hours per week.

• Must hold a license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction.
