This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage comprehensive administration tasks and independently oversee a caseload of around 80 small combination plans.
• Comprehend and interpret elements of DB/Cash Balance Plan actuarial valuations, effectively communicating any issues to internal actuaries and clients.
• Assemble annual valuation packages that include valuation reports, annual funding notices, letters, actuarial certifications, IRS Form 5500, related schedules, and additional IRS forms such as 5330 and 8955-SSA.
• Prepare comprehensive premium filings for the PBGC.
• Design plans for both existing and prospective clients.
• Conduct, review, and rectify annual non-discrimination testing for stand-alone DB/Cash Balance Plans and combination DB/DC plans, covering tests such as 410(b), 401(a)(4), 401(a)(26), and gateway testing.
• Review documents, tax forms, notifications, disclosures, legal materials, and any correspondence sent to clients or government bodies.
• Compute projections and requirements for contributions.
• Calculate distributions and examine distribution forms for employees who have terminated their employment.
• Investigate technical and regulatory issues related to clients’ plans.
• Foster proactive client relationships, maintain plan management, and provide clients with guidance on technical and regulatory obligations.
• Engage in continuous education through webcasts and ASPPA examinations.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• At least 5 years of experience in the administration of qualified combination plans.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business/Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant disciplines.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members in a dynamic environment.
• Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Enthusiasm for client service.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
• ASPPA and/or NIPA certification preferred, or a willingness to pursue such credentials.
• Familiarity with Relius and FT William benefits software is preferred.
