Coding Specialist 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Review electronic and written documents, translating them into diagnostic and/or procedure codes.

• Ensure that records are coded with accuracy and within required timelines.

• Collaborate with clinical staff to effectively translate medical record documentation using the appropriate ICD CM and CPT/HCPCS code selections.

• Assist in quality and productivity audits, along with data collection and monitoring/reporting tasks.

• Facilitate accurate reimbursement for professional and/or facility services.

• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent qualification.

• Completion of college-level courses in ICD, CPT4, and HCPCS, verified by AHIMA or AAPC, or relevant experience in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

• AHIMA or AAPC Certification is mandatory.

• At least 1 year of experience in a medical office environment.

• Proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding.

• Prior experience using EPIC is preferred.

• Familiarity with insurance and third-party billing processes.

• Proficient computer skills and keyboarding abilities.
