📋 Description

• Coordinate, supervise, and enhance the flow of coded medical record information to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement across hospital and outpatient settings.

• Examine surgical coding submissions and handle denials to optimize revenue capture and maintain compliance.

• Act as a liaison between coding operations and the overall reimbursement process.

• Create and implement educational programs aimed at improving documentation practices and the quality of coding.

• Provide mentorship and support to both providers and coding personnel.

• Evaluate and assess educational initiatives for quantifiable improvements in data quality and departmental performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is mandatory.

• An Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field, medical records sciences, or business/healthcare administration, or five (5) years of coding experience may be accepted in place of educational qualifications.

• Additional specialty coding certification or two (2) years of specialty coding experience is required.

• Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems.

• Five (5) years of specialty coding experience is preferred.
