Coding Auditor – Hospital Inpatient Compliance Edits

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, investigate, and address coding inquiries from various departments within Franciscan.

• Incorporate current changes in the industry into the clinical audit practice environment.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on payer reimbursement methodologies and official coding standards.

• Support the Coding Supervisor in reviewing and addressing external coding audits.

• Conduct quality reviews to ensure adherence to payer reimbursement methodologies and official coding standards.

• Share audit findings and trends with the Coding Education Specialists for the purpose of education development and training.

• Compile quality review summaries for Coding Managers, Supervisors, Coding Education Specialists, and coding staff.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED - Required.

• 5 years of coding experience related to auditing specialty with CCS - Required.

• CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Required.

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management - Preferred.

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management - Preferred.

• RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Preferred.

• RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Preferred.

• Travel requirement: Never or Rarely.
