This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Evaluate, investigate, and address coding inquiries from various departments within Franciscan.
β’ Incorporate current changes in the industry into the clinical audit practice environment.
β’ Serve as a subject matter expert on payer reimbursement methodologies and official coding standards.
β’ Support the Coding Supervisor in reviewing and addressing external coding audits.
β’ Conduct quality reviews to ensure adherence to payer reimbursement methodologies and official coding standards.
β’ Share audit findings and trends with the Coding Education Specialists for the purpose of education development and training.
β’ Compile quality review summaries for Coding Managers, Supervisors, Coding Education Specialists, and coding staff.
β’ High School Diploma/GED - Required.
β’ 5 years of coding experience related to auditing specialty with CCS - Required.
β’ CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Required.
β’ Associate's Degree in Health Information Management - Preferred.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management - Preferred.
β’ RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Preferred.
β’ RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Preferred.
β’ Travel requirement: Never or Rarely.
