This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Extract information from service documentation and assign as well as sequence CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCs codes along with modifiers in billing systems.

β€’ Ensure adherence to coding compliance with federal, state, private health plans, organizational policies, and regulatory guidelines.

β€’ Review and resolve coding denials efficiently.

β€’ Complete charge sessions in designated work queues in a timely fashion.

β€’ Ensure documentation aligns with current EM Guidelines for providers.

β€’ Verify that documentation complies with CMS Teaching Physician Rules and UofL Health policies prior to code release for billing.

β€’ Confirm that Advanced Practice Provider documentation adheres to payer-specific requirements before code release for billing.

β€’ Provide feedback and suggestions on areas needing improvement identified during coding reviews.

β€’ Report ongoing deficiencies to the Senior Manager and Compliance Educator.

β€’ Achieve or exceed the organization's coding production and quality standards.

β€’ Engage in special projects and perform additional assigned tasks.

β€’ Maintain daily and weekly communication with office managers, departments, and providers.

β€’ Respond promptly to inquiries from managers, providers, departments, and representatives.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ High school diploma or GED/equivalent (mandatory).

β€’ Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) (mandatory).

β€’ Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Assistant (CCA) credentialed by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) (mandatory).

β€’ One to four (1-4) years of experience in physician coding (preferred).

β€’ Ability to work collaboratively within a team and achieve monthly objectives.

β€’ Capability to maintain compliance with coding regulations and rules.

β€’ Ability to uphold HIPAA privacy and security standards and confidentiality.

β€’ Strong communication skills with office managers, departments, providers, and representatives.
