This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Extract information from service documentation and assign, as well as sequence, CPT, ICD-10, HCPCs codes, and modifiers into billing systems.

β€’ Ensure adherence to coding compliance with federal, state, private health plans, organizational, and regulatory guidelines.

β€’ Review and address coding denials effectively.

β€’ Complete charge sessions in designated work queues promptly.

β€’ Ensure documentation aligns with current EM Guidelines for providers.

β€’ Confirm that documentation adheres to CMS Teaching Physician Rules and UofL Health policies prior to code release for billing.

β€’ Ensure Advanced Practice Provider documentation complies with payer-specific rules before code release for billing.

β€’ Offer feedback and suggestions on identified weaknesses during coding reviews.

β€’ Report recurring deficiencies to the Senior Manager and Compliance Educator.

β€’ Meet or surpass organizational standards for coding production and quality.

β€’ Engage in special projects and perform additional assigned tasks.

β€’ Maintain consistent daily/weekly communication with office managers, departments, and providers.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ High school diploma or GED/equivalent (mandatory).

β€’ Certified Professional Coder (CPC) accredited by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) (mandatory).

β€’ Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Assistant (CCA) accredited by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) (mandatory).

β€’ One to four (1-4) years of experience in physician coding (preferred).

β€’ Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and achieve monthly targets.

β€’ Capability to maintain compliance with coding rules and regulations, company policies, procedures, standards of conduct, and HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

β€’ Strong communication skills to interact with office managers, departments, providers, managers, and representatives.

β€’ Ability to respond promptly to inquiries.
