COBOL Developer, Junior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and sustain COBOL/CICS and Natural/Natural One applications in accordance with technical specifications.

• Assist in the analysis and resolution of service requests and minor incidents within production environments.

• Execute corrections and modifications to existing routines under technical supervision.

• Prepare and conduct unit and functional tests utilizing platform tools like KDZ.

• Monitor the lifecycle of requests on the platform, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines and quality standards.

• Aid in the analysis of functional and technical requirements.

• Maintain up-to-date system technical documentation and operating manuals.

• Assist in identifying and analyzing issues within Mainframe systems.

• Engage in team ceremonies and activities following Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

• Collaborate with more experienced colleagues to enhance technical skills and knowledge of business rules.

⛳️ Requirements

• Basic to intermediate familiarity with Mainframe environments.

• Understanding of COBOL.

• Knowledge of COBOL/CICS.

• Familiarity with Natural/Natural One.

• Practical knowledge of DB2.

• Basic understanding of SQL.

• Comprehension of the structure and manipulation of VSAM files.

• Experience in creating and executing test scripts is a plus.

• Knowledge of the KDZ tool is considered advantageous.

• Basic understanding of algorithm analysis.

• Familiarity with Scrum and Kanban concepts and practices.

• Experience with data modeling tools such as CASE or ERwin.

• Ability to read and interpret data modeling diagrams.

• Basic understanding of Structured Systems Analysis.

• Academic or professional experience in projects related to Mainframe systems.

• Experience in maintaining and supporting production systems.
