Founding Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop the product comprehensively using the existing tech stack of Next.js, React, TypeScript, and a .NET C# Excel control layer.

• Create financial data models, orchestrate calculations, integrate source systems, and manage scenario and version controls.

• Produce outputs that are traceable and reproducible, ensuring reconciliation and review as necessary.

• Provide intuitive and responsive interfaces for intricate financial workflows.

• Take ownership of and enhance the architecture, services, data layers, infrastructure as code, deployment environments, observability, and CI/CD processes.

• Make informed decisions on build-versus-buy options and spearhead technical planning and execution.

• Enhance testing, performance, recovery, and release practices as deployments and usage expand.

• Transform customer requirements into shared capabilities, configurations, or defined extensions.

• Manage authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, encryption, access control, and audit trails for sensitive customer financial data.

• Ensure operational stability in production through monitoring, backups, incident response, and controlled deployment and rollback procedures.

• Collaborate with the CEO and financial modelers to convert customer requirements into technical designs, implementation plans, and software with clear acceptance criteria.

• Take charge of engineering delivery and readiness for production.

• Mentor and guide the engineering team, uphold code review and delivery standards, and assist in evaluating future engineering candidates.

• Complete the remaining product and platform capabilities necessary to support clients #3 and #4 in production.

• Prepare Inframodel for scalability across the market in 2027 through sustainable architecture, production reliability, and engineering practices that accommodate a growing customer base and team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and delivering enterprise SaaS focused on financial modeling.

• Over 10 years of experience in developing and deploying production software.

• Demonstrated expertise in architecture, infrastructure, and production engineering, including infrastructure as code.

• Extensive knowledge in data modeling, calculation orchestration, integrations, versioning, and ensuring production reliability.

• Strong full-stack proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with solid judgment in product and interface design.

• Experience safeguarding sensitive financial data within enterprise software applications.

• Background in developing new products or significant features within a small team environment.

• Professional-level proficiency in English, with the ability to articulate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to the founder and internal team.

• Capability to independently manage architecture, infrastructure, and engineering execution without needing senior technical guidance.

• Experience in complex financial software, enterprise financial modeling, planning and forecasting, or fintech platforms that emphasize financial calculations and scenario logic.

• Familiarity with energy, infrastructure, or project finance is advantageous.

• Knowledge of calculation engines, Excel automation, model parsing, or regulated spreadsheet integration is a plus.

• Experience in scaling enterprise deployments through shared product capabilities and configurations is a bonus.

• A history of being an early engineer whose systems have continued to function and evolve is a plus.

• Experience in applying AI to financial workflows with source traceability, validation, and human review is a plus.
