Developer Productivity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Assist QVAC application teams in developing, reviewing, testing, and delivering dependable software with minimal friction.

• Create and maintain developer tools for both desktop and mobile applications, along with their shared runtime, AI harness, and skills packages.

• Assess, integrate, and sustain developer tools and AI agents, including repository guidance and necessary integrations.

• Build and manage agents in CI and scheduled workflows to analyze failures, suggest remedies, and present actionable evidence.

• Enhance automated pull request reviews by assessing finding accuracy and minimizing reviewer distractions.

• Create code quality scripts and checks for complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions.

• Collaborate with package owners to establish practical thresholds and targeted refactoring.

• Enhance development environments, testing processes, as well as build and release workflows.

• Prioritize enhancements with engineering teams, facilitate adoption through documentation and onboarding, and assess effectiveness, reliability, and operational costs.

• Diagnose CI failures, compatibility and performance regressions, and changes impacting package interfaces or architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation utilized by other teams.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

• Practical experience with AI coding tools or agents, including their integration.

• Good judgment regarding the limitations of AI tools, output validation, and the necessity for human review.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and systematic debugging of build, test, or integration failures.

• Strong commitment to code quality, maintainable code, effective automated checks, and behavior-preserving refactoring.

• Capacity to work independently while collaborating with engineers.

• Proficient communication skills in English within a remote, globally distributed team.
