Cloudera CDP Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Monitor the pipeline, applications, and health status of the cluster using Cloudera Manager, dashboards, and metrics.

• Troubleshoot errors and malfunctions independently by analyzing logs.

• Execute production deployments following the operational manuals provided by the development team.

• Oversee the maintenance of the Cloudera cluster: applying patches, updates, and configuration changes based on defined procedures.

• Restart failed applications and jobs, understanding the data they read and produce.

• Communicate directly with the client and, in writing, with vendor support.

• Ensure the daily stability of the enterprise data platform.

• Work shifts and ensure service coverage from Monday to Saturday.

• Be on call for approximately one week per month.

• Participate in about a week of onboarding and knowledge transfer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and terminal usage.

• Experience with SSH, including port forwarding.

• Ability to read logs and reason through troubleshooting processes.

• Basic networking knowledge.

• Experience with Spark/Hadoop or similar platforms.

• Fluent in Italian.

• Proficient in technical written English.

• Experience with Cloudera CDH/CDP, Hortonworks, MapR, EMR, or other enterprise Hadoop platforms (nice to have).

• Familiarity with Cloudera Manager, Oozie, Solr, or HBase (nice to have).

• Background in application maintenance, NOC, or second-level support roles (nice to have).
