Cloud Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Plan, organize, and implement operating system patching and routine infrastructure maintenance across supported Servigistics environments.

• Create and uphold patching schedules and maintenance strategies.

• Coordinate maintenance tasks around essential system availability times.

• Assess systems prior to scheduled maintenance to pinpoint prerequisites, dependencies, exceptions, and potential risks.

• Collaborate with Systems, Networking, DBA, R&D, and Application Support teams.

• Conduct pre-maintenance and post-maintenance validations.

• Verify application availability, system health, and the successful execution of planned activities.

• Monitor patch status and identify systems that are unsuccessful, deferred, or in need of remediation.

• Maintain and configure Apache, Java, Tomcat, and other authorized third-party components.

• Execute basic application and infrastructure troubleshooting during or following scheduled maintenance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems and Linux system administration.

• Experience with operating system patching, system maintenance, and lifecycle management.

• Knowledge of patch planning, maintenance windows, change coordination, and post-maintenance validation.

• Experience in maintaining and configuring Apache, Java, and Tomcat.

• Familiarity with AWS and Azure platforms.

• Basic understanding of Oracle databases, including SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, and JOIN commands.

• Familiarity with ETL technologies such as Pentaho PDI.

• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting Linux systems, cloud-based environments, infrastructure operations, or system maintenance.

• Experience in coordinating or executing operating system patching and scheduled maintenance.

• Proficient in Linux command-line operations.

• Experience with maintenance schedules, change processes, or production maintenance windows.

• Experience in documenting technical procedures and maintenance activities.

• Basic troubleshooting skills.

• An associate degree in a technical field with 2 years of relevant technical work experience, or a bachelor's degree in a technical field.

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Must possess or be capable of obtaining a Security-level clearance.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship.
