Cloud Server Operation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Design the server or rack layout

• Install server operating systems

• Conduct daily server maintenance and troubleshooting activities

• Diagnose network issues

• Repair and follow up on break-fix incidents involving servers and other hardware

• Address hardware batch failures and related problems

• Manage internal system data, including asset management, ticketing, and rack elevations

• Gather and verify online asset information

• Oversee server lifecycles

• Participate in on-call rotations during regular and weekend hours

• Resolve issues raised by business stakeholders

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields

• Understanding of the interdependencies among data center functions and technologies

• Experience with large-scale remote OS installations, such as PXE boot

• Familiarity with basic automation tools like Ansible; capable of understanding and executing Shell or Python scripts

• Proficient in Linux systems, with the ability to identify hardware faults

• Knowledge of TCP/IP concepts – including Subnetting, VLANs, DNS, and IPv6; skilled in general troubleshooting

• Familiarity with out-of-band/lights-out server communication methods, such as IPMI and NCSI

• Excellent documentation skills and practices

• Strong ability to perform under pressure; quick learner; broad technical interests; a strong sense of responsibility; and enthusiasm for work

• Proficient communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus

• Strong team spirit; capable of working independently
