Cloud Security Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist in securing a large hybrid on-premise and multi-cloud infrastructure.

• Evaluate cloud authorization packages, including FedRAMP, and aid in making Authority to Operate recommendations.

• Conduct ongoing monitoring of cloud service provider environments for security configurations, compliance, and deviations.

• Offer guidance on cloud security architecture and perform design reviews for both new and existing cloud workloads.

• Facilitate security for container and serverless workloads, focusing on image scanning and runtime protection.

• Aid in incident response and remediation efforts for systems hosted in the cloud.

• Analyze cloud costs and usage trends, suggesting security-related optimization opportunities.

• Keep records of cloud security controls, configurations, and architectural decisions.

• Assist in regular security assessments and audits of cloud environments.

• Collaborate closely with security engineering and authorization teams to ensure that cloud-hosted systems adhere to security and compliance mandates throughout their lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud security support, FedRAMP authorization, or continuous monitoring activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree.

• Proficient understanding of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure security services and their native security tools.

• Knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and best practices in cloud security.

• CISSP certification is mandatory.

• AWS Certified Security – Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate certification is required.
