Cloud Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership in technical, administrative, and operational aspects for designated projects or tasks.

• Assess project and budget statuses, oversee schedules, and create status reports.

• Act as the main point of contact for scheduling, budgeting, status updates, issues, and risks.

• Direct cloud specialists in planning and executing migrations of applications, databases, and infrastructure from on-premises to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Transition, lead, and expand the cloud team throughout the 20–30 month cloud migration strategy.

• Oversee operations, architecture, and development personnel across various cloud initiatives and projects.

• Formulate technical project plans, proposals, reports, task orders, and administrative documentation.

• Manage risks and issues until resolution.

• Create documentation and facilitate training and knowledge-transfer initiatives.

• Assist in vendor and partner assessments, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring.

• Set and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) along with migration and operational health metrics.

• Track cloud and project expenditures and propose cost-efficient strategies and resource allocations.

• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory, contractual, and internal policy standards.

• Identify chances for process improvement, automation, and operational enhancements.

• Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve issues.

• Develop and implement change management and stakeholder communication strategies.

• Uphold quality standards, conduct peer reviews, and establish measurable acceptance criteria.

• Maintain engagement with vendors and partners to eliminate roadblocks and expedite decision-making.

• Execute change management and stakeholder communications for MAC/CMS partners.

• Construct and sustain the integrated master schedule and dependency map.

• Establish governance routines such as standups, risk assessments, release readiness, and executive reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience as a Project Manager for large-scale cloud planning and migration projects.

• Experience with 1 or 2 on-premises-to-cloud migration projects, ideally to OCI.

• At least 5 years of project management experience, preferably in large technology, engineering, infrastructure, or cloud projects.

• Minimum of 3 years of significant cloud experience in a program delivery capacity.

• Proficiency in cloud service delivery models and cloud technology concepts.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.

• Experience collaborating with stakeholders and development teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Willingness to travel to Maryland (Baltimore area) 10–25% of the time.

• Must successfully pass the CMS background check.

• Must have resided in the US for at least 3 of the past 5 years to qualify for a Public Trust.

• Desired: 1+ years of experience in a DevSecOps/DevOps setting.

• Desired: Familiarity with Oracle Cloud services and the provisioning/automation of Oracle Cloud infrastructure, services, and tools.

• Desired: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible.

• Desired: Understanding of end-to-end modern agile software development.

• Desired: Any cloud certification, preferably OCI certification.

• Desired: PMP Certification.
