Cloud Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Manage and sustain Azure production environments to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and robust stability.

• Work alongside the CloudOps team to enhance platform stability by applying effective SRE principles.

• Minimize manual effort by improving documentation and assist in establishing proactive alert thresholds for voice health.

• Serve as an L4 escalation point for intricate incidents related to compute, networking, storage, identity, and AKS.

• Review, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure managed by Terraform.

• Operate and diagnose AKS clusters and workloads, focusing on health, scaling, networking, ingress, and performance.

• Engage in the Cloud Operations on-call rotation for critical incidents in production.

• Maintain technical operational procedures and runbooks for troubleshooting voice-related issues.

• Uphold and support the organization's information security standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Cloud Operations, Platform Engineering, or similar SRE roles.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, covering VMs, networking, identity, storage, and monitoring.

• Demonstrated experience with Terraform in production settings.

• Systematic troubleshooting skills across application, network, and provider-level challenges.

• Significant operational experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Proficiency in automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

• Experience in optimizing Azure environments for reliability and cost-effectiveness.

• Familiarity with Azure Monitor for tracking performance trends.

• Capability to work hours that align with US Eastern Time (ET).

• Background check required.
