Cloud Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Manage and sustain Azure production environments to ensure high availability, performance, and stability.

• Work in collaboration with the CloudOps team to enhance platform stability by applying practical Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

• Minimize manual efforts through improved documentation and by establishing proactive alerting thresholds for voice health.

• Serve as an L4 escalation point for intricate incidents across compute, networking, storage, identity, and AKS.

• Review, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure managed by Terraform.

• Operate and resolve issues in AKS clusters and workloads, focusing on health, scaling, networking, ingress, and performance.

• Participate in the Cloud Operations on-call rotation for critical production incidents.

• Maintain technical operational procedures and runbooks for troubleshooting voice-related issues.

• Support and uphold the organization's information security standards.

• Safeguard company, customer, and partner data while reporting security incidents, breaches, or vulnerabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Cloud Operations, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, encompassing VMs, networking, identity, storage, and monitoring.

• Proven track record of working with Terraform in production settings.

• Systematic troubleshooting skills across application, network, and provider-level issues.

• Significant operational experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Experience in building automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

• Experience in optimizing Azure environments for both reliability and cost-effectiveness.

• Familiarity with Azure Monitor to observe performance trends.

• Strong skills in communication, collaboration, ownership, accountability, adaptability, and customer-centricity.

• Ability to align work hours with US Eastern Time (ET).

• Must adhere to information security policies and complete mandatory training.
