Cloud Migration Test Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain reusable automated testing scripts and frameworks for applications that have been migrated.

• Set technical benchmarks prior to migration and analyze post-migration outcomes to detect failures.

• Assess configurations for Azure and AWS, including aspects like networking, connectivity, DNS, identity, and cloud services.

• Verify APIs, application interfaces, integrations, and databases, ensuring data integrity and access to application data.

• Conduct smoke, regression, performance, and reliability testing against established baselines.

• Incorporate automated test execution and reporting into CI/CD pipelines.

• Oversee test cases, results, defects, and requirements traceability using approved test management tools, including Jama Connect when applicable.

• Compile technical acceptance documentation for migrated applications.

• Communicate findings, risks, and Go/No-Go recommendations to the team lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.

• At least five years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, with a focus on developing automated test frameworks.

• Proficient in PowerShell and Python scripting.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, as well as API and database testing.

• Experience using test automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, pytest, or Robot Framework.

• Capability to independently create and execute technical validation scripts.

• Ability to tackle complex issues with minimal guidance and offer functional leadership to team members.

• Experience with testing applications during cloud migrations is preferred.

• Familiarity with Jama Connect or other enterprise test management systems is a plus.

• Experience in testing applications hosted on Azure or AWS is a bonus.

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins is advantageous.

• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Newman, or REST Assured is desirable.

• Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or k6 is a plus.

• Experience delivering federal programs is an advantage.

• Familiarity with GitHub and GitHub Copilot is beneficial.

• Awareness of AI technologies and their practical applications in IT delivery or cloud environments is a plus.
