This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate enterprise application portfolios and identify suitable migration strategies utilizing the 7 Rs framework.
• Architect secure, scalable, and highly available AWS GovCloud solutions.
• Create migration plans, dependency mappings, runbooks, cutover procedures, rollback strategies, and validation criteria.
• Utilize AWS migration services such as MGN, DMS, DataSync, Application Discovery Service, and Migration Hub.
• Transition applications, virtual machines, databases, file systems, and enterprise data to AWS GovCloud.
• Design and implement compute and container platforms utilizing EC2, EKS, and ECS.
• Strategize and carry out storage, database, and data migrations, including synchronization, replication, validation, and cutover.
• Develop hybrid and cloud networking architectures using Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, routing, DNS, and security controls.
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code technologies.
• Establish standardized AWS GovCloud environments utilizing the Landing Zone Accelerator on AWS and enterprise landing-zone patterns.
• Apply FIPS endpoints and approved cryptographic configurations as necessary.
• Create secure data-transfer methods from on-premises to GovCloud.
• Implement micro-segmentation and security-group architectures in line with Zero Trust principles.
• Coordinate migration waves involving application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, database, and business teams.
• Oversee migration dependencies, technical and business risks, outage windows, resource constraints, and remediation efforts.
• Validate migrated workloads for functionality, performance, security, resilience, observability, and operational readiness.
• Deploy monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, recovery, and operational support capabilities.
• Pursue application modernization opportunities, including containerization, managed services, automation, and cloud-native enhancements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing AWS cloud architectures, preferably within the AWS GovCloud environment.
• Strong comprehension of enterprise application migration strategies and the 7 Rs migration framework.
• Practical experience with AWS migration tools including MGN, DMS, DataSync, Application Discovery Service, and Migration Hub.
• Experience in migrating enterprise applications, servers, databases, storage solutions, and data to AWS.
• Extensive experience with EC2, EKS, ECS, storage services, database services, and cloud-native architectures.
• Proficient in designing hybrid cloud networking using Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, routing, DNS, and network-security measures.
• Hands-on expertise in developing infrastructure with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Familiarity with Landing Zone Accelerator on AWS, AWS Organizations, account structures, guardrails, and standardized cloud foundations.
• Knowledge of FIPS endpoints, encryption requirements, and secure data-transfer techniques in government cloud settings.
• Experience in designing micro-segmented network architectures and Zero Trust security-group policies.
• Solid understanding of application dependency analysis, migration-wave planning, cutover management, rollback strategies, and technical risk management.
• Background in cloud monitoring, logging, operational readiness, backup, disaster recovery, and post-migration optimization.
• Familiarity with application modernization, containerization, managed services, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Experience in supporting government, defense, regulated, or compliance-oriented environments is preferred.
• Strong skills in architecture, troubleshooting, documentation, governance, stakeholder coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Preferred certifications include: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional; AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional; AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty; AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
