This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and nurture the Infrastructure and Security team, which currently comprises four members.
• Provide structured, hands-on management of personnel, including regular one-on-one meetings, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and continuous tracking of individual growth.
• Transition the Information Security function from a primarily operational role to a strategic position.
• Automate manual infrastructure tasks to reduce operational dependencies and mitigate risk.
• Plan and supervise AWS infrastructure architecture in conjunction with the existing specialist on the team.
• Monitor and optimize cloud expenditures, ensuring fiscal efficiency while maintaining performance standards.
• Define and monitor metrics related to availability, performance, and security.
• Implement practices for observability and incident response.
• Collaborate with Development and Product teams to ensure that the infrastructure can scale with business needs.
• Drive the team’s performance management, as well as technical and behavioral development.
• Report directly to the CTO, offering technical insights for strategic technology decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in managing infrastructure and/or information security teams.
• Proven history of working in rapidly growing, high-scale settings.
• Practical experience with cloud infrastructure architecture, especially AWS.
• Established record of implementing infrastructure process automation initiatives.
• Experience in hands-on people management, including 1:1s, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and team development.
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure architecture.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of information security practices and risk management methodologies.
• Understanding of monitoring, observability, and incident response strategies.
• Knowledge of cloud cost management and FinOps principles.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies as applied to technical team management.
• Strong technical foundation paired with management acumen.
• Automation-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Strategic mindset and results-driven orientation.
• Genuine commitment to and active participation in the development of team members.
• Ability to reassess processes and enhance the maturity of an existing function.
• Clear and effective communication with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• Cloud (AWS) or information security certifications are advantageous.
• Experience in enhancing the maturity of information security functions within technology organizations is a plus.
• Experience in regulated environments or those with compliance requirements, such as Open Finance, is a plus.
• AWS certifications, such as Solutions Architect or Security, are a plus.
