Cloud Engineer – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and create cloud infrastructure solutions on GCP, emphasizing scalability, performance, and resilience.

• Construct, manage, and enhance Kubernetes clusters, while designing solutions that utilize containerization and microservices architecture.

• Develop, sustain, and refine CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools such as Cloud Build and Jenkins.

• Define cloud infrastructure by employing infrastructure-as-code methodologies, primarily using Terraform.

• Oversee data integration and ETL workflows across both cloud and hybrid platforms.

• Establish, implement, and maintain cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with TELUS security standards.

• Configure and manage observability and monitoring systems using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate rapid software delivery, ensuring systems adhere to security and performance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in designing and architecting cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Strong proficiency in Kubernetes, containerization, and microservices architecture.

• Proven track record in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like Cloud Build, Jenkins, or comparable platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools, especially Terraform.

• Experience with data integration and ETL processes across various platforms.

• Comprehensive understanding of cloud security best practices, compliance frameworks, and TELUS security standards.

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
