Clinical Service Lead – Consultant Psychiatrist, CYP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver clinical leadership for the Children and Young People services at Psychiatry UK.

• Guide and support the multidisciplinary clinical team by providing expert advice and promoting best practices.

• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and operational leaders to enhance and evolve CYP services.

• Champion innovation, service transformation, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, CQC standards, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.

• Evaluate clinical performance, patient outcomes, and service quality through data analysis, audits, and patient feedback.

• Assist with clinician recruitment, onboarding, supervision, mentoring, and professional growth.

• Lead and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.

• Enhance clinical capacity, workforce planning, and patient pathways in conjunction with operational colleagues.

• Cultivate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Facilitate integrated working, service development, and the expansion of Psychiatry UK's CYP services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Medical degree accompanied by a postgraduate qualification (MRCPsych or equivalent).

• Full GMC registration with an active licence to practise.

• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

• Significant Consultant-level clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

• Proven track record of providing clinical leadership in a complex healthcare setting.

• Experience in leading, supervising, mentoring, and nurturing multidisciplinary clinical teams.

• Evidence of involvement in clinical audit, quality improvement, and service development efforts.

• Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, patient safety, and applicable regulatory standards.

• In-depth knowledge of evidence-based assessment and treatment strategies for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and broader mental health conditions affecting children and young people.

• Experience in delivering clinical education, teaching, or mentoring activities.

• Research experience, including publications or presentations concerning mental health or Children and Young People (CYP).

• Background in leading service development, transformation, or innovation projects in healthcare.

• Experience with budget management and resource planning in clinical services.

• Knowledge of epidemiology, healthcare evaluation, and statistical analysis relevant to mental health services.

• Experience utilizing clinical data and analytics to enhance performance and service delivery.

• Project and change management experience.

• Experience in developing and executing clinical risk management and safeguarding frameworks.

• Proficient IT skills, including electronic health records, clinical databases, and reporting systems.

• Commercial awareness.
