This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Schedule diagnostic and/or surgical procedures with precision.

• Exhibit the nursing process and accept verbal orders from physicians.

• Ensure that documented physician orders are secured and manage additional orders for scheduled patients.

• Conduct interviews with physicians' offices and patients.

• Clarify hospital procedure guidelines and policies.

• Collaborate with clinical departments to adjust schedules as needed.

• Ensure patients are comfortably accommodated.

• Collect complete and accurate clinical, demographic, and financial data during the scheduling process.

• Input data into scheduling systems or other relevant applications.

• Provide instructions for preparation and appointments.

• Adhere to procedures for special requests, STAT requests, and schedule adjustments.

• Facilitate communication with clinical areas to meet customer requests.

• Respond to telephone inquiries in accordance with scheduling scripts.

• Maintain a high standard of customer service and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor.

• Inform customers about physician orders, pre-authorization, and financial clearance requirements.

• Perform other PASU or registration duties as assigned.

• Oversee the interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, directing, appraising, rewarding, and disciplining of employees; address complaints and resolve issues.

• Identify opportunities to enhance patient relations and reduce scheduling handling time.

• Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with both internal and external clients.


⛳️ Requirements

• Previous clinical experience as an RN or LPN is essential.

• A minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute is required.

• Proven working knowledge of software, systems, and equipment is necessary.

• Advanced customer service skills and experience are required.

• Ability to thrive in a call center environment.

• Capable of conveying and receiving detailed information through both oral and written communications.

• A course in Medical Terminology is required.

• Demonstrated high productivity levels.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Technical accuracy, exceptional communication skills, and the highest ethical standards are essential.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Graduation from a professional nursing program with current LPN or RN licensure is preferred.

• 2–5 years of administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or a related field is preferred.

• Over 3 years of experience in Patient Access/Scheduling is preferred.

• Some college coursework is desirable.

• Must secure and provide proof of necessary vaccinations and screenings prior to employment, as applicable and permitted by law.

• Availability to work hours and days as needed based on departmental/system requirements is necessary.

• Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for extended durations.

• Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.

• Frequent prolonged standing, sitting, and walking are required.

• Ability to work in hospital administration and patient care environments with potential exposure to life-threatening patient conditions.
