This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Report to and work under the guidance of Pharmacy Leadership.
• Collaborate effectively and occasionally independently with medical directors and enterprise personnel.
• Assist in the development and oversight of the drug utilization and prior authorization review program.
• Contribute to and support initiatives and commitments across the enterprise.
• Create and manage strategies for pharmacy cost containment.
• Develop and execute tailored pharmacy cost containment strategies for enterprise, regional, and large-account scenarios.
• Draft medical criteria and engage in activities that support the enterprise prior authorization program.
• Prepare and present reports, data, and analyses on utilization and cost trends.
• Provide leadership and guidance on pharmacy reimbursement, claims processing policies and procedures, and pharmacy vendor selection.
• Act as a corporate pharmacy resource for medical management, operations, and sales teams.
• Serve as a liaison to pharmacists, professional pharmacy organizations, internal committees, case management, medical management, and other providers.
• Utilize clinical knowledge and independent critical thinking to interpret criteria, policies, and procedures for prior approval and retrospective review determinations.
• Collaborate with clinical and operations staff of pharmacy program vendors to guarantee satisfactory service for members and providers.
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Possess an active, current, and unrestricted pharmacy license in the state(s) where job duties are performed.
• At least three (3) years of pharmacy practice experience.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in managed pharmacy care and drug utilization review is preferred.
