Clinical Pharmacist – FL License Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Analyze and interpret clinician notes and patient-care assessments to support prior authorization and develop care-plan recommendations.

• Create and enhance clinical protocols specific to diseases and medications.

• Track patient medication adherence through PDC reports, assessment data, and mobile-platform insights.

• Assess EMR data, including drug-disease interactions, medication choices, lab results, vital signs, allergies, prescriptions, renewals, and communication with physicians.

• Suggest alternative therapeutic approaches and disease-specific treatments in line with established guidelines.

• Oversee therapies for side effects and medication-related concerns; propose changes to drug therapies as necessary.

• Conduct medication therapy management, record interventions, and evaluate adherence rates.

• Perform pharmacist consultations, motivational interviewing and coaching, medication reconciliation, regimen optimization, synchronization, reminders, and care coordination.

• Track productivity and provide weekly statistics on growth and development.

• Supervise daily tasks of technicians and ensure the accuracy of delivery coordination, prior authorizations, logs, and specialty-care usage.

• Identify and address insurance issues and financial assistance opportunities.

• Manage communications of support personnel in adherence to HIPAA regulations.

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and DEA requirements while maintaining pharmacist registration and remote activities.

• Directly communicate with other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.

• Train pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, and healthcare professionals.

• Manage and update pertinent data utilizing database applications.

• Contribute to operational enhancements, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.

• Assist in research projects and peer-reviewed articles.

• Recognize trends, troubleshoot issues, suggest improvements, implement changes, and engage in process-improvement initiatives.

• Safeguard confidential organizational and patient information.

• Stay updated with professional knowledge through education, publications, networks, and professional organizations.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or an equivalent advanced degree is required.

• Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida.

• At least 1 year of experience is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Maintain current registration and adhere to local, state, and federal drug laws and DEA regulations.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Extensive knowledge of specialty medication pharmacology and pharmacy regulations.

• Strong technical and clinical competencies.

• Ability to effectively manage processes and personnel.

• Focus on legal compliance, productivity, quality, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, as well as web-based platforms, databases, and reporting tools.

• Capability to identify barriers to medication adherence and implement and monitor improvement strategies.

• Ability to inspire and coach patients towards achieving better health outcomes and therapy objectives.

• Familiarity with complex/chronic diseases and specialty-pharmacy therapies is preferred, including oncology, transplant, hepatitis C, infectious diseases/HIV, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, GI disorders/IBD, cystic fibrosis, psoriasis, hyperlipidemia, lupus, and other inflammatory conditions.

• Data entry and computer skills will be assessed during the pre-employment evaluation.
