Clinical Health Informatics Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Evaluate clinical forms, data fields, and data entry processes within the EMR.

• Analyze data collection throughout key stages of the patient journey.

• Suggest ways to enhance the structure and standardization of clinical data collection.

• Examine the utilization of structured fields and free-text documentation, proposing suitable methods.

• Advise on relevant clinical terminology, classifications, and coding standards as applicable.

• Ensure that recommendations align with practical clinical workflows and do not impose unnecessary documentation burdens on healthcare providers.

• Collaborate with pertinent clinical, Product, Data, Public Health, and Engineering teams to confirm and prioritize recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) or another relevant clinical qualification.

• At least 3 years of pertinent experience working with EMR/EHR systems, clinical informatics, clinical data management, or the design and optimization of clinical data collection and documentation workflows.

• A solid understanding of clinical documentation and healthcare workflows.

• Experience in reviewing or designing clinical forms, EMR data fields, or structured health datasets.

• Knowledge of health data quality and standardization.

• Familiarity with relevant clinical terminology and coding standards, such as ICD-10, SNOMED CT, LOINC, HL7/FHIR, or similar standards.

• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and technical teams.

• Experience working with EMRs/EHRs in Nigeria or other African healthcare environments.

• Experience with multi-facility health information systems.
