Clinical Genomics Scientist – Report Writing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Curate variants, genes, and gene-disease associations in accordance with ACMG guidelines

• Analyze data from clinical genomics

• Choose variants for curation or confirmation

• Utilize HGVS guidelines for variant naming

• Prepare clinical reports

• Assist in test validation and enhance processes

• Present research findings

• Track test turnaround times

• Support laboratory directors and R&D in validating technologies and software platforms

⛳️ Requirements

• Board certification as a Genetic Counselor is preferred, or a PhD/MD in clinical medicine, genetics, molecular biology, or a related discipline

• For Genetic Counselors: a minimum of three years of direct patient-facing genetic counseling experience, including test ordering, clinical documentation, development of patient resources, report interpretation, and conveying complex results

• 2–4 years of experience in clinical genomics or related areas, including postdoctoral positions

• Comprehensive understanding of the American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) guidelines for variant curation

• Familiarity with genomic variation and its relationship to human diseases

• Proficiency in clinical medicine, genetics, genomics, or molecular biology

• Experience in assessing data quality and effectively communicating genetic information

• High proficiency in reading and composing medical language

• Competence in Microsoft Office, encompassing Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Preferred PhD or higher qualification in Molecular Cell Sciences

• Desired experience in bioinformatics analysis, variant effect prediction algorithms, and scripting languages

• Capability to curate variants, genes, and gene-disease associations

• Familiarity with HGVS guidelines for variant nomenclature
