Clinical Director – Clinical Mental Health Counseling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership in both academic and administrative capacities for the practicum and internship elements of the Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

• Ensure adherence to CACREP standards, state licensure regulations, and institutional policies regarding clinical education.

• Work collaboratively with the Program Director on establishing clinical training partnerships, supervisor training, and assessment protocols.

• Oversee and assess practicum and internship components while serving as the designated Practicum and Internship Coordinator.

• Create and sustain clinical training policies, procedures, handbooks, affiliation agreements, and accreditation documentation.

• Establish, evaluate, and maintain clinical site partnerships and verify the qualifications of site supervisors.

• Train, support, consult with, and assess site supervisors, adjunct faculty, and faculty involved in practicum/internship courses.

• Monitor student performance, maintain records, evaluations, liability insurance, and supervision documentation.

• Implement evaluation processes for students and site supervisors, utilizing results for program enhancements.

• Ensure compliance with clinical supervision ratios and group size restrictions.

• Address issues related to students and sites, including mediation and remediation strategies.

• Gather and analyze data on clinical training and prepare annual outcomes reports and accreditation submissions.

• Assist students with practicum and internship placements, orientation, field readiness, ethical conduct, and professional behavior.

• Deliver MCMHC courses related to practicum, internship, and clinical supervision.

• Engage in faculty meetings, committees, university service, and scholarly pursuits.

• Collaborate across departments and programs within the College of Mental Health.

• Build partnerships with community agencies, clinical organizations, and professional associations.

• Represent the program in clinical and community collaborations and at professional gatherings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program (mandatory).

• If the doctorate is from a related discipline, a minimum of one full academic year as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program prior to July 1, 2013, under the CACREP grandfathering provision.

• Current clinical counseling license and supervision credential in good standing with the appropriate state board.

• At least three years of post-licensure clinical experience, including training in supervision and direct oversight of counseling students or pre-licensed counselors.

• Professional counselor identity, which includes active membership in professional organizations and proof of scholarly or professional contributions.

• Familiarity with CACREP standards, clinical supervision models, and ethical guidelines pertinent to counseling and supervision.

• Effective teaching, advising, and supervision capabilities at the graduate level.

• Experience in developing and sustaining clinical partnerships and training site supervisors in accordance with CACREP standards.

• Competence in digital learning platforms and supervision technologies, including Moodle, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Tevera, Supervision Assist, Skillsetter, or similar systems.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, students, site supervisors, and community partners.
