Clinical Consulting Pharmacist, PA/TN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct clinical reviews and provide consultation regarding medication requests, prior authorizations, and benefit determinations.

• Assess the appropriateness of therapy, dosing, and safety using evidence-based guidelines.

• Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and suggest alternatives when necessary.

• Assist in complex case reviews and appeals by providing accurate clinical documentation.

• Identify areas for enhancing medication adherence, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

• Educate internal teams on formulary management, utilization review processes, and updates to pharmacy policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must reside in Pennsylvania or Tennessee.

• A R.Ph is required; a PharmD is preferred.

• Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted pharmacist license in Pennsylvania or Tennessee.

• Capability to obtain additional state licensure as dictated by business needs.

• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience is preferred (in retail, hospital, or managed care settings).

• Familiarity with formulary management, clinical guidelines, and pharmacy benefit structures is essential.

• Strong communication, analytical, and consultative abilities are required.

• Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and work independently is important.

• A commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing education is expected.

• PharmD or higher degree is preferred in educational qualifications.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a pharmacy or managed care environment is preferred.

• A state pharmacy license is mandatory.
