Clinical Consulting Pharmacist – PA, TN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct clinical assessments and provide consultation regarding medication requests, prior authorizations, and benefit decisions.

• Assess the appropriateness of therapy, dosing, and safety according to evidence-based guidelines.

• Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and suggest alternatives when necessary.

• Assist in complex case reviews and appeals by providing accurate clinical documentation.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance medication adherence, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

• Provide education to internal teams on formulary management, utilization review, and updates to pharmacy policies.

• Ensure that members receive clinically suitable and cost-effective therapies.

• Balance patient care with prudent resource management.

⛳️ Requirements

• R.Ph is required; PharmD is preferred.

• Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted pharmacist license in PA and TN.

• Capability to acquire additional state licensure based on business requirements.

• Preferably over 1 year of pharmacy experience (in retail, hospital, or managed care environments).

• Familiarity with formulary management, clinical guidelines, and pharmacy benefit structures is essential.

• Strong communication, analytical, and consultancy skills are necessary.

• Ability to apply sound clinical judgment and work autonomously.

• Commitment to evidence-based practices and ongoing professional development.

• PharmD or higher education is preferred.

• Ideally 3–5 years of experience in a pharmacy or managed care setting.

• A state pharmacy license is mandatory.

• Must reside in PA or TN.
