Clinical Consulting Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct clinical assessments and provide consultations on medication requests, prior authorizations, and benefit evaluations.

• Assess therapy suitability, dosing, and safety in accordance with evidence-based guidelines.

• Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and suggest alternatives when necessary.

• Assist in complex case evaluations and appeals by providing precise clinical documentation.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance medication adherence, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

• Train internal teams on formulary management, utilization reviews, and updates on pharmacy policies.

• Ensure that members are provided with clinically suitable and cost-effective therapies.

• Balance patient care with the judicious management of resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph) is required; a PharmD is preferred.

• Must possess a full, current, and unrestricted pharmacist license in both PA and TN.

• Ability to acquire additional state licensure depending on business requirements.

• A minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience is preferred (retail, hospital, or managed care).

• Familiarity with formulary management, clinical guidelines, and pharmacy benefit systems.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and consultative abilities.

• Capacity to exercise sound clinical judgment and work independently.

• Dedication to evidence-based practices and ongoing education.

• A PharmD or higher is required.

• Preferred 3–5 years of experience in a pharmacy or managed care environment.

• Valid state pharmacy license is mandatory.

• Applicant must reside in PA or TN.

• Availability for after-hours overnight shifts is required.
