This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Perform procedural coding in alignment with established coding rules, conventions, standards, and guidelines.

• Execute diagnostic coding following the prescribed coding rules, conventions, standards, and guidelines.

• Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and efficiency to boost coding accuracy and departmental productivity.

• Collaborate with Coding Centre Leadership to ensure the quality of clinical information received is maintained.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a Clinical Coding Qualification.

• Previous experience in clinical coding.

• Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.

• Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and relevant terminology.

• Familiarity with ICD-10, CSSA, and SADA rules and guidelines, with the capability to implement them in a professional setting.

• Knowledge of pertinent coding systems, such as ICD-10 books, the latest CCSA coding books, Encoder, South African Coding Master Industry Table (MIT), and Patient Administrative System.

• Awareness of clinical coding and associated coding policies.

• Familiarity with SA ICD-10 Morbidity Coding Standards and Guidelines, WHO coding rules and conventions, PHISC ICD-10 and CCSA Coding Standards and Guidelines, and Mediclinic Coding Standards.

• Comprehension of professional conduct in a healthcare environment.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
