
Client Support Associate Attorney – Worker's Compensation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the primary attorney contact for injured employees with ongoing workers’ compensation claims.
• Respond to and complete client call requests routed through Actionstep within two business days.
• Prioritize urgent issues, such as benefit stoppages, denied or delayed medical treatment, and upcoming hearing or evaluation dates.
• Advise clients on temporary disability payments, medical treatment authorizations, and utilization review denials.
• Prepare clients for Qualified Medical Evaluations (QMEs), Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), depositions, and WCAB hearings.
• Address inquiries regarding work restrictions, return to work policies, permanent disability ratings, and settlement procedures.
• Simplify workers’ compensation concepts and procedures into easily understandable language.
• Handle client concerns and de-escalate sensitive or emotionally charged discussions.
• Record client interactions, advice, and follow-up actions in Actionstep.
• Report benefit disputes, deadline risks, and case concerns to the respective attorneys or case managers.
• Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and the handling attorneys.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law institution.
• Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Familiarity with the California workers’ compensation system, including benefits, the medical-legal process, and WCAB procedures.
• Outstanding verbal communication abilities with a friendly, professional phone demeanor.
• Strong active listening capabilities.
• Capacity to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
• Empathy and patience when engaging in challenging conversations with injured workers.
• Superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to manage a consistent volume of calls while achieving daily deadlines.
• Proficient in using case management software, phone systems, and standard office technology.
• Reliable home office setup with high-speed internet and a quiet, private workspace suitable for confidential communications.
• Experience in California workers’ compensation law is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a client-facing legal position is preferred.
• Prior experience in a high-volume, phone-based environment is highly desirable.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
