Claims Technical Director – Management Liability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee all aspects of claim processing for the Management Liability sector.

• Assess submitted documentation and policy materials while conducting thorough coverage evaluations.

• Draft correspondence regarding coverage decisions and related letters.

• Analyze reserves and provide guidance on settlement authority for intricate, specialized claims.

• Manage claims related to D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Commercial Crime, Financial Institution E&O, Financial Institution bonds, and Representations and Warranties/transactional liability.

• Ensure accurate evaluations of coverage, liability, damages, and overall claim resolution.

• Maintain proper reserving practices in line with corporate policies.

• Oversee claim litigation processes and collaborate with defense attorneys and specialists.

• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trials when necessary.

• Prepare Large Loss Reports and Trial Alerts.

• Provide recommendations for claim disposition, assessment, negotiation, and settlement.

• Create and execute strategies to address negative trends.

• Monitor claim quality and gather customer feedback to ensure regulatory compliance and client satisfaction.

• Review and allocate new files as required.

• Assist business partners through claim communications, trend analysis, development input, and marketing support.

• Participate in claim review meetings alongside business partners.

• Consult with team members and engage in related projects.

• Anticipate and fulfill the needs of both internal and external customers.

• Execute other responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required.

• A JD is highly preferred.

• At least 3 years of experience in D&O claims (public and private companies) or relevant education/experience.

• Advanced skills and comprehensive technical knowledge in claims, particularly D&O, EPL, and Financial Institution products and industries.

• Profound understanding of legal principles and policy interpretation.

• Previous experience with D&O coverage is required.

• Capacity to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

• Exceptional analytical, decision-making, negotiation, problem-solving, project management, organizational, and teamwork abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong strategic thinking abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other claims management tools.
