This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Develop and implement a thorough development strategy that aligns with AAC's strategic goals and annual revenue objectives.
• Propel revenue growth through individual contributors, corporate partners, foundations, and grants.
• Create, document, and enhance Development policies and procedures.
• Construct and oversee the development budget; lead efforts in revenue forecasting, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
• Establish performance goals and timelines for each donation channel, implementing dashboards and metrics.
• Direct AAC's individual giving program, encompassing annual giving, mid-level and major donor engagement, planned giving, and direct response campaigns.
• Manage, mentor, and support the Individual Giving Officer.
• Maintain a personal portfolio of high-value major donors and prospects, focusing on cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and securing five- and six-figure contributions.
• Formulate and oversee donor stewardship strategies to enhance relationships, improve retention, and foster sustainable growth.
• Identify philanthropic opportunities and develop donor strategies that align with AAC's priorities.
• Oversee the creation of donor-facing materials, such as proposals, impact reports, stewardship communications, and solicitation content.
• Utilize fundraising data and portfolio metrics to evaluate performance and refine strategies.
• Manage and expand AAC's corporate partner portfolio.
• Seek and pursue new corporate partnership opportunities.
• Create sponsorship and partnership packages.
• Work collaboratively with Marketing & Communications to ensure effective corporate partner brand integration and visibility.
• Manage foundation and grant opportunities, including letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, and renewal applications.
• Research and identify potential foundation funding prospects.
• Collaborate with program staff and leadership to write and submit grant proposals and reports.
• Cultivate relationships with foundation program officers.
• Ensure the integrity and workflow of the Salesforce CRM for donor tracking, portfolio management, reporting, gift acknowledgments, and donor communications.
• Align fundraising narratives, storytelling, and donor communications with AAC's brand and strategic goals.
• Collaborate with Finance and Programs on gift processing, fund tracking, donor intent, and grant restrictions.
• Assist the VP of Advancement and Executive Director in engaging board members as fundraising advocates.
• Promote a culture of philanthropy, creativity, collaboration, and effectiveness.
• Supervise a Development team consisting of two members.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Advancement.
• Hold direct responsibility for approximately $2 million in annual revenue.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, with a proven track record of success.
• Demonstrated capability to supervise, coach, and support staff.
• Preferred 3 or more years of management experience.
• Familiarity with DAFs, QCDs, and various planned giving vehicles.
• Experience in mid-level or major gift programs.
• CFRE certification is a plus.
• Proven success in personally cultivating, soliciting, and securing gifts at the five- and six-figure levels.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement a fundraising strategy.
• Proven experience managing a development budget.
• Ability to leverage data for informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Strong commitment to AAC's mission and values.
• Experience in the outdoor, recreation, or conservation sectors is a plus but not mandatory.
• Cover letter required.
• Proficiency in using Google Workspace, Slack, and Salesforce.
• Willingness to travel for donor visits, events, conferences, and in-person team meetings.
