This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.
• Oversee various teams of examiners and technical staff handling liability claims.
• Track colleagues' workloads and individual claim activities.
• Deliver training and technical/jurisdictional guidance on claims adjudication.
• Maintain claim diaries, including frequent entries for complex or high-exposure claims.
• Recognize trends, issues, and challenges, advising management on suggested actions.
• Update management on new procedures and ongoing process enhancement ideas.
• Collaborate on projects with management.
• Compile, review, and analyze management reports, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
• Conduct quality reviews of claims to ensure compliance with audit, service contract, and quality standards.
• Serve as the second level of appeal for client and claimant concerns and enact final resolutions.
• Evaluate reserve amounts on high-cost claims and those that exceed examiner authority.
• Oversee third-party claims, periodically reviewing litigated, serious vocational rehabilitation, questionable, and sensitive claims.
• Maintain client communication and foster professional relationships.
• Provide recommendations to clients based on claim status and deliver written claim summaries upon request.
• Ensure that direct reports hold the necessary licenses in serviced jurisdictions.
• Confirm claims files are accurately coded and sufficiently documented.
• Administer company personnel policies while adhering to staffing and training standards.
• Conduct interviews, hire personnel, and establish performance development plans for colleagues.
• Facilitate performance discussions, offering leadership, guidance, support, and motivation.
• Support the organization’s quality initiatives.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Licenses as necessary.
• Professional certifications relevant to the line of business are preferred.
• A minimum of six (6) years of claims experience or a combination of education and experience that is equivalent is required.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a claims supervisory role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of claims management processes and procedures across multiple product lines.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations.
• Competent in PC usage, particularly with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong leadership and management capabilities.
• Proficient analytical and interpretive skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
