Claims Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of claims examiners who investigate property insurance claims related to dwelling or commercial losses.

• Confirm coverage and authorize prompt payments to policyholders.

• Assess examiner correspondence for precision and thoroughness.

• Ensure that field adjuster outputs align with CFP Independent Adjuster standards.

• Review reserves and offer reserve suggestions.

• Communicate with examiners and other parties to obtain missing information.

• Assist in negotiating challenging settlements and ensure that settlements accurately reflect insured losses.

• Evaluate, mentor, and guide assigned examiners.

• Consult with Claims management and/or legal counsel regarding legal matters or litigation.

• Clearly and succinctly document claims activities.

• Assess questionable claims and make determinations on payment authorizations.

• Conduct daily diary reviews to guarantee timely status updates.

• Review and approve claims within the established authority limits.

• Verify and analyze data utilized in the claims settlement process.

• Lead and engage in special projects aimed at enhancing department quality, efficiency, and customer service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.

• Exceptional customer service, as well as oral and written communication abilities.

• A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in property claims is preferred.

• Experience in managing and settling dwelling or homeowners property losses.

• Familiarity with claims litigation, appraisal, and mediation processes.

• Proficient working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, is required.
