This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
β’ Oversee the functioning of various teams comprising workers' compensation examiners and technical personnel.
β’ Evaluate colleagues' workloads, offer training, and supervise individual claims activities.
β’ Provide technical and jurisdictional guidance to examiners regarding claims adjudication.
β’ Maintain claim diaries, including frequent updates on intricate or high-exposure claims.
β’ Analyze and manage complex or technically challenging general liability claims.
β’ Investigate and collect information to assess claim exposure.
β’ Direct claims via action plans towards timely resolution.
β’ Oversee the litigation process to ensure timely and cost-effective claims resolution.
β’ Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigations and/or litigation management.
β’ Conduct team meetings and assign accountability for follow-up tasks.
β’ Collect compliance and claims-processing data for team meetings.
β’ Assist in interviewing adjusters and clerical staff, providing feedback to the hiring manager.
β’ Support monthly evaluations of adjuster workloads, identify trends, and recommend adjustments.
β’ Implement company personnel policies and adhere to staffing and training standards.
β’ Conduct interviews, hire staff, establish performance development plans, and lead performance discussions.
β’ Offer support, guidance, leadership, and motivation.
β’ May supervise up to three direct reports.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of claims management experience or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.
β’ High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
β’ A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
β’ Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.
β’ Knowledge and experience in Workers' Compensation are essential.
β’ Supervisory experience and knowledge are required.
β’ Jurisdiction knowledge and licensing: CA.
β’ Ability to analyze and handle complex or technically challenging claims.
β’ Strong conceptual and clear thinking abilities.
β’ Excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical skills, and discretion.
β’ Capacity to manage work-related stress and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
