Claims Examiner – Bodily Injury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +40 more states.

📋 Description

• Analyze and handle intricate bodily injury claims related to auto and commercial transportation.

• Review coverage details and conduct thorough investigations.

• Assess liability and evaluate the extent of damages.

• Process complex claims in both auto commercial and personal lines, including bodily injury cases.

• Ensure proper documentation and accurate coding of claim files.

• Oversee the litigation process for claims involved in litigation.

• Coordinate vendor management, including independent adjusters to assist in claim investigations.

• Report significant claims to excess carriers.

• Create and uphold action plans to comply with state-required contact deadlines and facilitate prompt resolution.

• Identify and pursue subrogation and risk transfer opportunities.

• Secure and manage salvage disposal.

• Communicate claim actions and processing updates with insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers.

• Support the organization's quality initiatives.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in claims management or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.

• Extensive knowledge of personal and commercial auto policies, coverages, principles, and relevant laws.

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively.

• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Obtain and maintain state adjusting licenses as required for the role.
