This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee the complete claims compensation procedure.
• Evaluate claims denial requests, verify data, and address claim exceptions; identify shortcomings and promptly inform customers about their coverage.
• Review claims and accompanying documentation to ensure that eligibility is logical and accurate.
• Interpret policies while analyzing claims.
• Evaluate and approve claim disbursements within the designated authority limits.
• Handle claims from assigned folders as instructed by senior management.
• Efficiently de-escalate claims that have been elevated to higher levels.
• Send responses to claimants, including letters addressing deficiencies and rejections.
• Provide timely and effective replies to clients.
• Relay updates, requests for claim information, and recommendations to relevant departments.
• Adhere to established escalation protocols and policies.
• Bring claim quality issues and outcomes to the attention of a supervisor or relevant unit.
• Accurately and descriptively document client interactions in the software; maintain a record for each action taken in relation to a claim.
• Review and monitor documentation, following up for additional information when needed.
• Oversee all claims-related tasks on a daily basis.
• Monitor claims intake and alert the supervisor of any potential backlog or delays.
• Log a minimum of 7 hours in the system each day.
• Track daily claims activities to achieve weekly targets set by senior management (40 status changes/contacts per day).
• Process at least 6 claims daily.
• Adhere to scheduled shifts, including designated lunch and break periods.
• Follow company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; coursework or a degree in business, insurance, or a related field is advantageous.
• Previous experience in claims, insurance, or customer service, preferably in home warranty or property insurance.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to clearly articulate coverage decisions to customers.
• Comfort with managing a high volume of ongoing claims and transitioning between them without losing focus on details.
• Good judgment for reviewing documentation and evaluating coverage in relation to contract terms.
• Proficiency in claims management software and general computer applications.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with U.S.-based business teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work during Porch’s U.S. EST business hours (7:30 PM IST – 3:30 AM IST).
• A quiet working environment.
