This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee a designated portfolio of Arrive Fresh cargo claims from the initial submission through to final resolution.
• Conduct investigations and resolve claims related to temperature-controlled freight, including reefer temperature deviations, pulp readings, transit delays, shelf-life deterioration, and USDA inspection results.
• Negotiate and resolve claims for cargo loss, damage, shortages, and contamination with shippers, receivers, carriers, and insurance adjusters.
• Organize the salvage, redistribution, or disposal of perishable freight in accordance with food safety and FSMA regulations.
• Gather and verify claim documentation such as temperature logs, bills of lading, USDA inspections, and invoices.
• Reconcile claim-related receivables and payables, secure releases, and execute assignments of rights.
• Monitor claims data and trends to identify risk areas, recurring problems, and concerns regarding carrier performance.
• Collaborate with Carrier Sales, Business Delivery, Legal, and Operational Risk teams on high-risk shipments and dispute resolution.
• Elevate complex, high-value, or litigated claims to the Arrive Fresh Risk Manager.
• Supervise cold-chain compliance and standards for carrier vetting, which includes reefer certifications, temperature-recording protocols, pre-cooling requirements, and FSMA compliance.
• Manage operational risk workflows for rejected, stranded, or high-risk perishable loads.
• Keep precise claim records in the TMS and claims management system, ensuring that customers and carriers are kept informed.
• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related) or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cargo claims management, particularly within 3PL, freight brokerage, or cargo insurance sectors.
• Extensive knowledge of laws and standards pertaining to perishable freight, such as the Carmack Amendment, PACA guidelines, USDA standards, and FSMA.
• Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and critical thinking abilities, with a proven history of managing high-value settlements and intricate legal disputes.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, capable of juggling competing priorities in a dynamic logistics setting.
• Proficient in Google Workspace, freight broker TMS platforms, and claims management software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on proactive and collaborative relationship management with customers and carriers.
