This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
β’ Oversee a designated portfolio of Arrive Fresh cargo claims from the initial submission to the final resolution stage.
β’ Investigate and address claims related to temperature-sensitive freight, including reefer temperature deviations, pulp readings, transit delays, shelf-life deterioration, and USDA inspection outcomes.
β’ Negotiate and resolve claims associated with cargo loss, damage, shortages, and contamination.
β’ Coordinate the salvage, redistribution, or disposal of perishable freight items.
β’ Gather and verify temperature logs, bills of lading, USDA inspection reports, invoices, and other relevant documentation for claims.
β’ Reconcile receivables and payables related to claims, ensuring proper releases and executing assignments of rights.
β’ Monitor claims data and trends to pinpoint risk areas, recurring problems, and concerns regarding carrier performance.
β’ Collaborate with Carrier Sales, Business Delivery, Legal, and Operational Risk teams.
β’ Forward complex, high-value, or litigated claims to the Arrive Fresh Risk Manager for further handling.
β’ Ensure compliance with cold-chain protocols, carrier vetting, reefer certifications, temperature-recording guidelines, pre-cooling specifications, and FSMA regulations.
β’ Supervise workflows related to operational risk for rejected, stranded, or high-risk perishable loads.
β’ Maintain precise records of claims within TMS and claims management systems, keeping both customers and carriers updated.
β’ A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline) or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
β’ A minimum of 3 years' experience in cargo claims management, particularly in 3PL, freight brokerage, or cargo insurance settings.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of the Carmack Amendment, PACA guidelines, USDA standards, and FSMA regulations.
β’ Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and critical thinking abilities, particularly in managing high-value settlements and complex legal disputes.
β’ Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic logistics environment.
β’ Proficient in Google Workspace, freight broker TMS platforms, and claims management software.
β’ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for managing customer and carrier relationships.
