This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
β’ Oversee a designated portfolio of Arrive Fresh cargo claims from the initial submission through to final resolution.
β’ Investigate and resolve claims related to temperature-controlled freight, including reefer temperature variations, pulp readings, transit delays, shelf-life degradation, and USDA inspection outcomes.
β’ Implement PACA guidelines and the Carmack Amendment.
β’ Negotiate and resolve claims pertaining to cargo loss, damage, shortages, and contamination with shippers, receivers, carriers, and insurance adjusters.
β’ Coordinate the salvage, redistribution, or disposal of perishable freight in accordance with food safety and FSMA regulations.
β’ Collect and verify claim documentation, such as temperature logs, bills of lading, USDA inspections, and invoices.
β’ Establish defensible positions for recovery and subrogation purposes.
β’ Reconcile receivables and payables related to claims, secure releases, and facilitate assignments of rights.
β’ Monitor claims data and trends to pinpoint risk areas, recurring problems, and concerns regarding carrier performance.
β’ Communicate findings with the leadership team at Arrive Fresh.
β’ Collaborate with Carrier Sales, Business Delivery, Legal, and Operational Risk teams on high-risk shipments and dispute resolution.
β’ Escalate intricate, high-value, or litigated claims to the Arrive Fresh Risk Manager.
β’ Supervise cold-chain compliance and the standards for carrier vetting.
β’ Enforce certifications for reefer units, temperature-monitoring protocols, pre-cooling requirements, and compliance with the FSMA Sanitary Transportation Rule.
β’ Manage operational risk workflows for rejected, stranded, or high-risk perishable loads.
β’ Coordinate real-time reviews of reefer temperature deviations, offsite restacks, and actions regarding carrier holds or decertifications.
β’ Maintain precise records of claims in the TMS and claims management system.
β’ Keep customers and carriers updated on the status of claims.
β’ A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area (Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field) or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of experience in cargo claims management, particularly within 3PL, freight brokerage, or cargo insurance sectors.
β’ Extensive knowledge of laws and standards governing perishable freight, including the Carmack Amendment, PACA guidelines, USDA standards, and FSMA.
β’ Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and critical thinking abilities.
β’ Proven history of managing high-value settlements and complex legal disputes.
β’ Excellent organizational skills with a strong focus on detail.
β’ Capability to handle competing priorities in a dynamic logistics environment.
β’ Familiarity with Google Workspace, freight broker TMS platforms, and claims management software.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
