Claims Adjuster – Commercial Auto Claims

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess and adjudicate intricate claims, including those under litigation, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory standards.

• Supervise the investigation, assessment, and resolution of bodily injury claims involving company vehicles or drivers.

• Generate comprehensive file summaries for internal reporting, large loss evaluations, and reinsurance purposes, ensuring that all relevant information is meticulously documented.

• Guarantee that all bodily injury claims are processed in line with industry best practices and company protocols.

• Adjust physical damage claims, including those with unreported damages.

• Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters, claimants, and representatives of third-party claimants upon receipt of essential information.

• Discuss incidents, damages, preventability, and procedures with commercial vehicle operators.

• Maintain files for litigation, subrogation, physical damage, liability, and workers' compensation claims.

• Report claims and accidents as necessary.

• Be available on-call during nights and weekends for serious accidents and other required duties.

• Select, direct, and manage vendor relationships, including towing companies, body shops, garages, and parking/storage facilities to obtain precise costs for claim settlements.

• Update and post payments for repairs.

• Order police reports, establish new claim files, and verify losses with insurers and brokers.

• Communicate effectively with the Claims team, Safety/Compliance team, and other relevant stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Post-secondary education in an Insurance program or a related field.

• Preferably 2+ years of experience in trucking, claims, or safety and compliance.

• Familiarity with commercial lines and transportation liability.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

• Strong skills in multi-tasking, time management, customer service, and organization.

• Ability to uphold a high level of confidentiality.

• Capability to remain calm in crisis situations.
